IT for engineering consultancies

IT for engineering consultancies: CAD workstations, project files and licences that keep drawings moving.

Engineers lose hours when models open slowly, files sit in personal Dropbox accounts or a licence runs out on submission day. For Spatial Composite Solutions in Ras Al Khaimah we moved engineering files from Dropbox to SharePoint with folder permissions and rolled out SOLIDWORKS 2026 to every designer.

The problems we see

The IT problems consultancies bring to us.

Big files, expensive software and deadlines set by someone else.

Slow models
Workstations without the graphics card, memory or fast disk that Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or SOLIDWORKS need.
Files in too many places
Drawings on a NAS, in personal Dropbox and on laptops, so nobody is sure which revision went to the client.
Licences
Autodesk and other subscriptions that lapse, sit unused on leavers' accounts or are shared in ways the vendor will not accept.
Site and home access
Engineers on site or at home needing the current drawings without copying the whole project to a laptop.
Client security questions
Government and developer clients asking about MFA, backups and access control before they award work.
Backups of large projects
Terabytes of project data, backed up nightly in theory and never restored in practice.

Which of our services fit

What we run for a consultancy.

  • CAD and rendering workstations specified, supplied and set up for your software
  • Project files on SharePoint or a file server with folder permissions by project
  • Autodesk, Microsoft and other licences supplied, assigned and renewed on time
  • Remote access and VPN for site and home, with MFA on every account
  • Backups of project data, checked daily and restored on a schedule
  • Helpdesk and onsite support under managed IT or an AMC

How it starts

From a review to steady running.

  1. 1

Review of workstations, files and licences

We check workstation specs against your software, map where project files live and list every licence and renewal date.

  2. 2

    Fixed quote and plan

A fixed quote with changes ranked by risk, starting with backups and the files clients depend on.

  3. 3

    Migrate between deadlines

File moves and workstation swaps planned around submissions, project by project, with a way back at each step.

  4. 4

    Onboarding and monthly reporting

Onboarding usually takes about 30 days. After that you get support at the hours agreed in the contract and a monthly report.

Questions

What engineering partners and practice managers ask us.

Can you specify workstations for Revit, AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS?

Yes. We match graphics card, processor, memory and disk to the software and model sizes you actually use, check them against the vendor's certified hardware list, then supply and set them up.

SharePoint or a file server for large project files?

It depends on file sizes, how many people open the same model and how much work happens off site. We test with your own projects before recommending one, and some firms use both.

Can you manage our Autodesk and Microsoft licences?

Yes. We supply licences, assign them to named users, remove them from leavers and keep a renewal list, so you pay only for seats in use.

Our clients send security questionnaires. Can you help?

Yes. We set up the controls they ask about, MFA, backups, access control and endpoint protection, and give you the factual answers to put in the questionnaire.

We have offices outside the UAE. Can you cover them?

Engineers go onsite anywhere in the UAE. Offices in the US, UK, India, Uzbekistan and the wider Middle East are supported remotely, with local hands arranged for physical work.

What happens if we leave?

Your Microsoft tenant, domains, licences and admin accounts stay in your name, and the documentation we keep is handed over in writing.
