The challenge
What the client needed.
A large Dubai-based manufacturing group bought new file-server infrastructure: an HPE ProLiant server, SAN storage and a Synology NAS.
Its IT security team needed a partner to deploy all three in an existing, live server rack without surprises on the day.
How we planned it
Before going on site, Missan sent the client a written prerequisites and scope checklist. It covered rack space (at least 7U for a 2U server, 2U SAN and 3U NAS), rack depth and load (around 90 kg added), redundant A/B power feeds and roughly 1.0–1.3 kW of extra load, and the switch ports needed for management, data and storage.
The client confirmed the scope in a kick-off meeting, and the work was set for a single scheduled date.
What we delivered
- Server installation with RAID 1 for the operating system, OS install and activation, and registration on the HPE portal
- SAN configured in RAID 6, with storage volumes provisioned, presented to and mounted on the server
- The Synology NAS configured as the backup destination, with backup jobs set up and verified
The outcome
The project was reported complete on 01/08/2026, about ten days after the client handed it over.
A project report with screenshots was issued for the client's sign-off.
The business case
A written pre-flight checklist meant the rack, power and network were ready before the engineers arrived, so the deployment fitted one window. The client got shared storage that tolerates two disk failures, plus a verified backup copy on separate hardware.
