Do you provide disaster recovery solutions for Dubai companies?
Yes. We cover Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the other emirates from our UAE head office. Disaster recovery can run to a UAE-hosted private cloud on Sangfor or to Microsoft Azure, with an agreed RTO and RPO and a recovery test you can watch. Our disaster recovery Dubai page covers the options in detail.
What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?
Backup is a copy of your data. Disaster recovery is the tested plan for getting systems running again, with an agreed time to recover (RTO) and an agreed amount of data you can afford to lose (RPO). Many companies have the first and not the second.
How often do you test restores, and do we see the results?
Restore tests run on a schedule written into the contract, and every result goes into your monthly report. For Dicetek we ran an offline backup and restore cycle across every server.
Does Microsoft 365 need its own backup?
Usually, yes. Microsoft keeps your data available, but deleted items and overwritten files are only kept for a limited time. A separate backup of Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams covers the gap.
Where is the backup data stored?
On site, in the cloud or both, depending on what you need. We tell you where every copy lives. If a regulator or client asks for UAE data residency, we design for it from the start.
How is it priced?
By the amount of data and the number of servers and users protected, plus any storage or licence costs. We quote after reviewing your current backups, so the price matches what you actually have.
Can you protect offices outside the UAE?
Yes. ILLUMIN8’s India office is on the same cloud backup as its UAE sites. Remote coverage extends to the US, UK, India, Uzbekistan and the Middle East.
