- windream appears as a drive in Windows Explorer, so people save and open files the way they do today. Behind it, every file gets an index, a version history and permissions.

- Paper is scanned, tagged with fields such as supplier, invoice number or employee ID, and found again by those fields or by full-text search.
- Versions and check-out
- One current version of each document, the earlier versions kept, and a lock while someone is editing so two people do not overwrite each other.

What is windream?
windream is an enterprise document management system (DMS, also called ECM) from Germany. It stores documents with index fields and versions, runs approval workflows, applies retention rules and keeps an audit trail. Staff use it through a drive in Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office and Outlook, or a browser.
Does windream work with Arabic documents?
Yes. Arabic and English documents sit in the same repository with the same index fields, retention rules and permissions. If you need Arabic text recognition on scanned paper or an Arabic user interface, we confirm what the current release supports for your case in the workshop, before you commit. Proposals, documentation and support are in English.
Which windream version do you install, and can you upgrade an older system?
We install the current release supported by the vendor. If you already run an older windream system, we review it, plan the upgrade and move it in stages so the existing archive stays available throughout.
How is windream different from shared drives or SharePoint alone?
Shared drives store files. windream adds index fields, records classification, retention rules, version control, approval workflows and a full audit trail, which is the evidence audits, tenders and regulators ask for. It works alongside Microsoft 365 rather than replacing it.
Is windream suitable for UAE government document management?
Yes. It provides records classification, retention schedules, role-based access and a full audit trail, and handles Arabic and English documents in one repository. We set it up and support it from the UAE.
Can windream run on our own servers or in a UAE data centre?
Yes. It runs on your own Windows servers or on a private cloud, so documents can stay in the UAE when a regulator or client requires it.
How is a windream project priced?
Licences are priced by the number of users and the modules you need. Implementation gets a fixed quote after the workshop, once document types, workflows and migration volume are known.
What happens to our documents if we stop working with Missan?
The licences, servers and documents are yours. We hand over the configuration, index structure and admin access in writing.
