Microsoft Defender for Business · endpoint security

Microsoft Defender for Business, switched on properly and actually watched.

If you pay for Microsoft 365 Business Premium, you already own Defender for Business. In most companies we look at, it is half configured and its alerts go nowhere. Missan sets it up across your laptops, phones and servers, retires the old antivirus without a gap, and agrees who acts when something is flagged. 5,000+ clients served since 2004.

What we do

What we set up.

Built on the licences you already have where possible.

22+ years · 5,000+ clients served since 2004 · 10,000+ projects delivered since 2004

Device onboarding
Every Windows laptop, Mac, phone and server brought into Defender, with a list of anything that is not reporting.
Next-generation protection
Antivirus, cloud protection and tamper protection on, so malware and users cannot simply switch it off.
Ransomware controls
Attack surface reduction rules and controlled folder access, tested on a pilot group before everyone gets them.
Detection and response
Suspicious behaviour flagged, devices isolated from the network when needed and incidents investigated from one console.
Vulnerability view
Which devices miss updates or run risky software, ranked so the worst gaps are fixed first.
Alerts with an owner
Agreed recipients, an agreed meaning of urgent and a short monthly report on what was found and done.

How a project runs

How we start.

Old antivirus out and Defender in, without a day where devices are unprotected.

  1. Step 1

    Licence and device review

We check your Microsoft licences, list your devices and note what security product each one runs today.

  2. Step 2

    Fixed quote

Setup, policies, the switch-over plan and any licence change, written down and priced.

  3. Step 3

    Pilot, then batches

Policies tested on a small group, then rolled out in batches, with the old product removed only once Defender reports correctly.

  4. Step 4

    Watch and report

Alerts handled as agreed, policies kept current and a monthly summary of threats, gaps and fixes.

After go-live

What stays true.

  • The Microsoft tenant and admin access stay in your company’s name.
  • No new licences unless there is a real gap.
  • Policies are documented and the documents are yours.
  • Changes go out in stages with a way back.
  • Support hours are written into the contract.
  • You can see the same console we see.

Support runs Monday to Friday 08:30–17:00 and Saturday 08:30–14:00 (Dubai time), with out-of-hours cover agreed in the contract where you need it. We reply within one business day to anything that is not urgent. See IT AMC contracts and managed IT services.

Questions

What buyers ask before they sign.

Are we already paying for Defender for Business?

If you have Microsoft 365 Business Premium, yes. Defender for Business is included in it, and many companies have it switched on in name only. We check your licences first. It can also be bought on its own for companies that do not need the rest of Business Premium.

How is it different from the antivirus we have now?

Traditional antivirus looks for known bad files. Defender for Business adds endpoint detection and response: it watches how programs behave, flags suspicious activity such as ransomware-style encryption, and lets a device be isolated from the network while it is checked. It also shows which devices are missing updates.

Can we keep our current antivirus while we switch?

For a short overlap, yes. Defender can run in passive mode next to another product while we confirm everything is reporting, then the old product is removed in batches. That avoids a day where some laptops have no protection.

Who watches the alerts?

That is the part most rollouts miss. Alerts go to a mailbox nobody reads. We agree who receives them, what counts as urgent and what happens next. If Missan manages your IT, alerts come to our team during the support hours written into your contract.

Is there a user limit?

Defender for Business is designed for organisations of up to 300 users. Larger organisations usually move to Defender for Endpoint, which we can also set up.

Does it cover phones and Macs?

Yes. It supports Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, and servers with the server add-on. Phones are usually brought in alongside Intune so device rules and security sit in one place.

How is it priced?

A one-off setup quoted after we review your devices and licences, then ongoing monitoring can be part of your monthly support. You get the fixed quote before we start.
