What changed in 2026

Six plans went up on 1 July 2026. Business Premium did not.

Microsoft announced the change on 4 December 2025 and it took effect on 1 July 2026. Existing customers keep their old price until their next renewal, so many UAE businesses will only see it on a renewal falling between now and June 2027.

Microsoft added features alongside the rise: 50 GB more mailbox storage on the Business plans, and Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 inside E3. Standalone Teams and Copilot licences were not part of this change.

The gap between Standard and Premium narrowed from USD 9.50 to USD 8.00 per user. If you were on Standard and buying Intune or Defender separately, Premium is now worth pricing again.

Monthly vs annual commitment

Paying month to month costs 20% more.

The prices above assume a one-year commitment. Microsoft lists month-to-month subscriptions at 20% above the paid-yearly price. On its Copilot pricing page, Business Premium with Copilot is USD 32.00 per user on an annual plan and USD 38.40 month to month.

The trade-off is flexibility. On an annual term you can add seats at any time, but you cannot reduce them until the anniversary. On a monthly term you can drop seats at the end of any month.

What works for most businesses here: put the stable core of staff on annual, and keep a small number of monthly seats for contractors, probation hires or seasonal peaks. Review the split at each renewal.

Which plan fits whom

Mix plans by role. Nobody has to be on the same licence.

  • Business Basic: Frontline and occasional users who work in a browser or on a phone.
  • Business Standard: Office staff who need desktop Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Business Premium: Any business under 300 users that handles client data, has laptops leaving the office, or faces security questionnaires.
  • Apps for business: Users who already have email elsewhere and only need the Office apps.
  • Microsoft 365 E3: Organisations over 300 users, or with compliance needs Business Premium does not meet.
  • Microsoft 365 E5: Regulated firms (banking, healthcare, government suppliers) needing advanced threat protection, eDiscovery and data loss prevention.
  • Copilot add-on, starting with a pilot group: Roles that write, summarise and analyse in Microsoft 365 every day.

A quick decision path

Four questions per user.

  1. Does the organisation have more than 300 users? If yes, look at E3 or E5. If no, stay on the Business plans.
  2. Does this person need desktop Office apps? If no, Business Basic.
  3. Does their laptop leave the office, or do they handle client or financial data? If yes, Business Premium. If no, Business Standard.
  4. Will they use Copilot every working day? If yes, add Copilot for a 60-day pilot and check the usage report before buying more.

Cutting licence waste

Where UAE tenants usually overpay.

These are the six things we check first in a licence review. Most can be fixed at the next renewal without anyone losing a tool they use.

Leavers are the biggest one. Our onboarding and offboarding checklist puts licence removal on the last-day list.

  1. Leavers still holding a paid licence. Convert their mailbox to a shared mailbox (no licence needed under 50 GB) and remove the seat.
  2. Two plans on one person, for example Business Standard plus a separate Apps for business licence.
  3. Business Premium given to users who never take a laptop out and never touch client data. Some of them can sit on Standard or Basic.
  4. Month-to-month subscriptions on a stable headcount. They cost 20% more than paying yearly.
  5. Copilot seats with no activity after 60 days. The Microsoft 365 admin centre usage report shows this.
  6. Standalone add-ons (Defender, Intune, Entra P1) bought on top of Business Premium, which already includes them.

Buying through Missan

A Microsoft CSP that reviews the licences, not only bills them.

Missan is a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider and a Microsoft Solutions Partner for AI Business Solutions, with 22+ years in the UAE and 5,000+ clients served since 2004. We do not publish partner pricing because it depends on your seat count, term and the Microsoft promotions in force when you order.

A licence review looks at what you hold against how each person actually works, and ends with a written recommendation and quote. You can act on it with us or on your own. See also Microsoft partner in the UAE and software and cloud licensing.

AED figures are converted at 3.6725, exclude 5% UAE VAT and were checked on 23/10/2026.

What is the Microsoft 365 Business Premium price in the UAE?

USD 22.00 per user per month on an annual commitment, about AED 80.80 before VAT. Microsoft did not change the Business Premium price in July 2026. Month-to-month billing is listed at 20% more.

What is the Office 365 price in Dubai?

Office 365 E3 is USD 26.00 per user per month (about AED 95.49) since 1 July 2026, up from USD 23.00. Most small and mid-sized businesses in Dubai buy the Microsoft 365 Business plans instead, which start at USD 7.00 (about AED 25.71) for Business Basic. Prices are the same across the emirates; VAT at 5% is added.

Did Microsoft 365 prices go up in 2026?

Yes. On 1 July 2026 Microsoft raised Business Basic from USD 6.00 to 7.00, Business Standard from 12.50 to 14.00, Apps for business from 8.25 to 10.00, Office 365 E3 from 23.00 to 26.00, Microsoft 365 E3 from 36.00 to 39.00 and E5 from 57.00 to 60.00. Business Premium stayed at USD 22.00. Existing customers keep their old price until their next renewal.

Is monthly or annual billing cheaper for Microsoft 365?

Annual. Microsoft lists month-to-month subscriptions at 20% more than the paid-yearly price; Business Premium with Copilot, for example, is USD 32.00 a month on an annual plan and USD 38.40 month to month. Monthly terms are worth it only for seats you expect to cancel within the year, such as contractors or a seasonal team.

How much does Microsoft 365 Copilot cost in the UAE?

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business, for organisations up to 300 users, is USD 21.00 per user per month on an annual plan (about AED 77.12), with a first-year promotional price of USD 18.00 for orders placed by 31/12/2026. The enterprise Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on is USD 30.00 (about AED 110.18). Both are added on top of a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan.

Do the prices include VAT?

No. Microsoft list prices exclude tax. UAE businesses pay 5% VAT on top, which VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim as input tax.

Why does Missan not publish its own prices here?

Partner pricing depends on seat count, term, the mix of plans and any Microsoft promotions in force when you order, so a published figure would be wrong for most readers. Ask for a licence review and you get a written quote against your actual tenant.

Who sells Microsoft 365 in the UAE?

You can buy direct from Microsoft or through a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP). Missan is a Microsoft CSP and a Microsoft Solutions Partner for AI Business Solutions. Buying through a CSP gets you local billing, one invoice for all your Microsoft subscriptions and someone who reviews the licences with you.
