- Day-to-day user support
- Desk-side help with laptops, printers, phones, email and access, so problems are fixed where they happen.
- Devices and onboarding
- New starter setups, leaver handovers, device builds, asset records and repairs.
- Network and server checks
- Daily checks on the network, Wi-Fi, servers and backups, with issues raised before users notice.
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Users, licences, mailboxes, Teams and permissions, following the standards agreed with you.
- Vendors and site work
- Meeting suppliers, telecom technicians and contractors on site, and checking their work.
- Escalation to specialists
- Security, networking, cloud and project work goes to the wider Missan team, with the resident engineer as your single point of contact.

The resident engineer works your office hours. Remote support from the Missan team runs Monday to Friday 08:30–17:00 and Saturday 08:30–14:00 (Dubai time), with agreed out-of-hours cover where you need it. See IT AMC contracts and managed IT services.

What is a resident IT engineer?
A Missan engineer who works full time at your office, as part of your day, but stays employed and managed by Missan. They handle the users, devices, network and systems on site, and the wider Missan team stands behind them for escalation, projects and cover.
How much does a resident engineer cost?
We scope and price this for your site. The price depends on the skills the role needs, the working hours, the number of users and sites, and what else you want included, such as monitoring, backup or licences. You get a written quote after we have looked at your setup.
What happens when the engineer is on leave or off sick?
Missan arranges cover. Another engineer who knows your setup steps in, and the helpdesk and senior team keep supporting your users remotely in the meantime. How cover works is agreed and written into the contract before the engineer starts.
Do we employ the engineer?
No. The engineer is employed by Missan, so visas, payroll, training, tools and replacement are our responsibility. You direct the day-to-day work on site; Missan is accountable for the quality of it.
Can the engineer work alongside our in-house IT team?
Yes. Many companies use a resident engineer to add hands to a small IT team, or to look after one office while the in-house team covers another. We agree who owns what before day one.
What hours does the resident engineer work?
Your office hours, agreed in the contract. Out-of-hours work, such as weekend changes or after-hours cover, is agreed in advance where you need it.
