What is Microsoft Entra ID?
It is the new name for Azure Active Directory: the sign-in system behind Microsoft 365. Every account, password, MFA prompt and admin role in your tenant lives there, which is why it is the first thing attackers go after.
We already have MFA. Is that enough?
Often not. MFA that is optional, excludes admins, allows text-message codes only, or leaves old sign-in methods open can be bypassed. We check how it is really set up and close the gaps.
What is conditional access?
Rules that decide when and how people can sign in: for example, MFA everywhere, no sign-ins from countries you do not work in, and company data only on managed devices. It needs the right Microsoft 365 licence, which we check first.
Will this lock staff out?
Not if it is rolled out properly. We run rules in report-only mode first, register staff for MFA in groups with clear instructions, and keep break-glass admin accounts so you are never locked out of your own tenant.
Can other apps use the same sign-in?
Many can. We connect supported business apps to Entra ID for single sign-on, so staff have one account and leavers lose access everywhere at once.
Does this help with insurance and audits?
Yes. MFA, admin account controls and sign-in logs are standard questions on cyber insurance forms and in audits. You get a written summary of what is in place.
How is it priced?
A fixed project fee agreed after a review of your tenant and licences. Ongoing management can be added to a managed IT agreement.
