The challenge
A refrigeration-engineering firm's Jebel Ali Free Zone office.
A refrigeration-engineering company was fitting out an additional office in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. It needed two separate networks in the same rack: one for the company and one for a VIP user.
The VIP user's phone also had to sit on the VIP network, so that his calls showed the correct number.
What we delivered
The work was scheduled with the client and carried out by Missan engineers on site:
- Installed two new Cisco Catalyst 9200L switches in the rack, one for each network
- Completed the initial configuration through the console, including management IP addressing and secure admin credentials
- Connected the Aruba access point
- Placed the VIP user's IP phone on the VIP network
- Enabled web management on the switches so they are easier to support
The outcome
The network installation report was issued two days after the job was booked, and the project was closed out in April 2026.
Missan continues to support the site, including a later fix for Aruba Instant On access-point PoE negotiation.
The business case
Separating the networks in hardware kept the VIP traffic and telephony apart from the company's network, on enterprise-grade switches. It was delivered as a small, fast fit-out.
