The challenge

A free-zone company with sites in Umm Al Quwain and Dubai.

The company worked from two sites in two emirates, Umm Al Quwain and Dubai, that were not linked securely.

It also needed central storage, and wanted the new firewall added without removing the existing one.

What we delivered

Missan installed and configured:

  • A FortiGate 60F firewall alongside the existing unit, licence activated and security settings applied
  • A 24-port switch to support the new firewall and LAN layout, with access points and data points uplinked through the rack
  • A site-to-site VPN tunnel between the Umm Al Quwain and Dubai sites, tested for stability
  • A Synology NAS supplied with four Seagate drives

The outcome

The VPN tunnel, switch ports, internet connectivity and firewall licence were all tested and verified, and the completion report was signed in April 2025.

The business case

Two emirates now work as one network, with staff at either site reaching the same resources over an encrypted tunnel and files kept on central storage.
