The challenge
A UAE hospital group's remote-site clinics (Abu Dhabi).
A UAE hospital group was opening clinic capacity at two remote camp sites in Abu Dhabi and had purchased Fortinet network equipment against two purchase orders.
It needed the equipment installed, configured and working to the group's own network design, with the group's IT team in the loop on every step.
What we delivered
Missan's MSP team coordinated directly with the client's IT lead and installed the kit at both sites.
At the first site we installed three FortiSwitches (one FortiSwitch 124G and two 124G-F PoE), a FortiAP 231K access point, and brought the two existing firewalls into a High Availability pair. All required VLANs were built to the client's design, and every Wi-Fi SSID was hidden as instructed.
At the second site we went further. The FortiGate 71F was re-architected so that every LAN VLAN (data, voice, corporate Wi-Fi, guest Wi-Fi, AP management, device management and MPLS) now runs over FortiLink. This makes the three managed FortiSwitches the single LAN distribution layer, run from the firewall.
- FortiLink uplink expanded to a two-member aggregate for bandwidth and redundancy
- A standard PC-plus-IP-phone profile applied across 90 switch ports
- A conflicting controller voice VLAN removed, so IP phones learn the correct voice VLAN automatically
- Existing firewall policies, DHCP scopes and routes kept bound, with no rework
The outcome
Both sites were reported complete and verified: all switches authorised, VLANs present, and DHCP and policy traffic confirmed working.
The first site was completed within about nine days of hand-off, and the second in two days.
The business case
One consistent, firewall-managed design across both clinics means the group's IT team can run remote sites centrally instead of managing switches one by one. Reusing existing policies avoided any re-engineering cost.
