From a crashed VMware host to Sangfor HCI.

The challenge
What the client needed.
A UAE building-materials trader lost its only virtualisation host when its VMware server crashed.
The business needed its servers running again quickly, without risking the data still sitting on the old disks.
What we delivered
Missan proposed rebuilding the host on Sangfor hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) instead of restoring the old platform. We quoted the solution, arranged the Sangfor licence through the distributor, and supplied two new SSDs for the HCI operating system.
The rebuild was done the day after the issue was raised. Working with the client's on-site contact over a live remote call, our engineer:
- Connected the new SSDs
- Configured them as a RAID 1 mirror
- Loaded the Sangfor HCI operating system
We made a deliberate choice to protect data: the existing hard-disk array was not wiped. The client was not yet certain that every backup was safe, so the old array was kept as a separate volume until that could be confirmed.
The outcome
The Sangfor HCI platform was built and licensed, with the licence activated on 08/06/2026, and the supply was invoiced and delivered.
The new platform runs from a mirrored system disk, and the original disk array was preserved untouched.
The business case
A failed legacy host became a move to a supported HCI platform instead of a like-for-like repair. Keeping the old array removed the risk of losing data during the move.
